Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions represent the basis upon which your driving lessons and courses are offered to you by  1 L Of A Driving School

1. I being driving instructor reserves the right to refuse driving tuition, if i feel it necessary due to the student misconduct, ill health or if I believes that student is under the influence of alcohol or drugs (prescribed or illegal).

2. 2 parties involved are bound by a verbal agreement. The verbal or oral agreement will be binding if there is an agreement on the services to be performed and an agreement was reached on remuneration for this service.

3. All payments must be made prior to an intensive driving course commencing.

4. Lesson fees are to be paid at start of each lesson unless a block payment.

5. Any request to refund prepaid lessons must be made within 14 days from the date of payment. The refund will be calculated by the hours taken at the current single lesson rate and this will be deducted from the block booking amount paid. No refunds will be issued after 14 days.

6. A beginners course is provided for those with very little, or no previous driving experience

7. Once a deposit is made for an intensive course we will ensure a car and we will be totally available to cover the hours you book plus the driving test period

8. When cancelling a driving lesson at least 24 hours’ notice must be given.

9. If you choose to cancel the course without prior intimation the deposit is non-returnable

10. 1 L of a driving school cannot be held responsible for the cancellation of driving lessons due to instructor’s ill health, adverse weather conditions, vehicle mechanical breakdown or any unforeseen circumstances. However we will rebook your driving lesson as soon as possible / convenient.

11. We will not allow sharing notes and other valued sources of 1 L of a driving school without my permission

12. When do I need to take my lessons?

Lessons need to start within 30 days off payment and a block of lessons should be completed within 3 months of the first booking. If you are unable to meet these requirements then please contact us as soon as possible.

13. Payments.

There is a strict 24 hr notice, any lesson cancelled within this time will be charged at the appropriate rate.

14. Refunds and guarantee’s.

If you are unable to continue for any reason after booking a block of lessons I will refund any remaining hours at normal hourly rates minus £35 admin charge and any block booking discount

15. General conduct.

I will always be courteous, polite, tidy and punctual ( depending on traffic ). My car we be well maintained, clean and tidy and strictly no smoking. You will be expected to be in a fit state to drive and will notify us if you have any health problems that may affect your ability to drive.

16. Driving licence and eyesight

The student must hold a valid and current provisional or full driving licence, which must be produced on your first lesson. You must also provide the Instructor with a online code to access your licence if asked. You must be able to read a number plate at a distance of 20.5 metres with glasses if worn, the Instructor will check that on The first lesson.

17. Driving tests.

Driving tests are booked by your self in consultation with Alan to avoid any clashes with other tests. All tests will take priority on the Instructors diary and sometimes your lesson may need to be rearranged to fit someone’s test in. You can change your test up to 5 times before you loose your fee and up to 3 working days before (please keep your Instructor informed).

18. Learner comfort and safety.

It is advised to wear suitable foot ware and clothing which will not restrict movement. Feel free to bring cold drinks to drink while stopped,  but no food please. All mobile phones will be turned off at the beginning of your lesson.

19. Complaints.

In the event of a complaint I will make all efforts to resolve the problem directly, however, please do not let a problem linger notify me as soon as possible so that a solution can be found.

20. Your Statutory rights.

These terms and conditions will not effect your statutory rights relating to faulty or incorrect described goods or services. If you feel you have doubts about your statutory rights please contact your local trading standards or Citizen’s Advice Bureau

All personal data you provide (eg Address and Contact Details) will be held on my passcode protected iPad and iPhone will be deleted once you pass your test.
